Why Choosing Causation Therapy?
Earlier Results
What might take months or years in traditional therapy can shift in just a few Causation Therapy sessions—often with immediate, life-changing relief
Resolving the root cause not just symptoms
It goes beyond surface symptoms to uncover the true origins of emotional wounds often rooted in past lives, prenatal experiences, or between-life agreements. Traditional therapy typically can’t reach these deeper layers
Fully Conscious Process
Unlike hypnotic regression, this process happens in full consciousness. You stay fully present, empowered, and in control throughout your journey
Paying for Session
Insurance & Reimbursement
Sessions are private pay. Dr. Richards is not contracted with any insurance plan, so payment is made directly at the time of service rather than billed to an insurer. On request, he provides a superbill: an itemized receipt showing the date of service, the diagnosis, the procedure code, the amount paid, his California LMFT license number and the practice tax identification number. You submit it to your own insurer, who may reimburse part of what you paid under your out-of-network benefit.
Before your first session, it is worth making one phone call.
Call the number on your insurance card and ask four questions: do I have an out-of-network benefit for outpatient mental health; what percentage is reimbursed once my deductible is met; how do I submit a superbill; and does a superbill need to show a National Provider Identifier, or is a tax identification number with the clinician’s license number sufficient. That last question matters, because plans differ on it. Five minutes on that call tells you what to expect, and it is far better to know beforehand than to assume.
Whether you are reimbursed, and how much, is decided entirely by your plan. Some plans reimburse a substantial share of out-of-network mental health care; others reimburse nothing. Providing a superbill is not a representation that your insurer will pay, and Dr. Richards cannot guarantee any particular outcome with your plan.
A superbill records a clinical diagnosis, because insurers require one. If you would rather no diagnosis be recorded or submitted, say so — you are entitled to pay privately without one, and it changes nothing about the work.
